Gargantilla is a mountainous village. In its surroundings you can see the cultivation of cherries and plums on terraces, and higher up you can find chestnut forests, and even small woods with birch trees that are protected by the government. Holly trees grow next to the torrents. In the Buitrera torrent is the natural swimming pool, where you can find the "carboneros" trail which leads to the famous Port of Honduras that leads you to the Jerte Valley.
It's cherries are very well-known but the Reina Claudia plums are even more famous! The Perché neighborhood offers an interesting sample of popular architecture.
